Ben got into political campaigning in Cornwall aged just 18 as he realised the positive impact committed and passionate MPs can have in their local community.
About Ben:
Born in Treliske, Ben grew up in Withiel near Wadebridge and went to school in Bodmin where his mother was a teacher and his father a GP.
While studying University College London, Ben served as President and founding member of the Cornish Society.
After graduating, Ben worked as a Parliamentary aide and constituency caseworker to former Lib Dem MPs Dan Rogerson and later Ian Swales. He also took research placements in the Hong Kong Legislative Council and the United States Senate.
Before becoming an MP, Ben worked as a solicitor in top international law firms and in the microchip industry.
Following in their father's footsteps, Ben's brother and sister are both local GPs, and another of his brothers is a carer. His two other siblings both work locally as schoolteachers.
He was elected as Member of Parliament for North Cornwall in July 2024, and lives near Wadebridge in North Cornwall.
Local party Chair, Faye Emery, commented:
"Ben’s varied political and professional experience gives him a national and international insight on many key issues.”
